Clam Fest and More!

I met up with a college friend and we headed down to the Yarmouth Clam Festival.  We hit it on opening day which was Friday so the crowds were minimal.  We walked around and viewed all the art.  I should say I viewed it, she bought it!  The Yarmouth Clam Festival is an annual summer event that promotes the community and provides opportunities for Yarmouth-based non-profit organizations to raise funds in support of their missions.  The festival has been going for 53 years.   We headed up to the craft area and wandered around before heading back to the food area to indulge.  There were two different areas with music stages and bands playing.  They have a huge parade on the Friday night and fireworks Saturday night.  Something for everyone!

After we headed to Cape Elisabeth to Fort Williams.  I think I’ve only been there one other time for a wedding (so didn’t do any sightseeing).  As my friend parked the car at the same time the cars on each side of us started backing up.  We both thought our vehicle was moving, and we could tell each was thinking the same thing.  Then we realized it wasn’t us but the cars beside us.  What’s the chances of both cars moving as we parked – talk about freaking you out.  We laughed so hard we were crying when we got out of the car.  Phew!  The park is beautiful with lots of areas to view the ocean and walk around.

Last stop of the day was Freeport to LLBeans!  I love checking out all the wildlife displays that Bean’s have, they do a great job with their displays.  We walked around the store, then headed outside to some of the other shops in town, and ended the hot day with an ice cream!

Love and Light to you all!
